VOLUNTEER STANDARDS

Girl Scouts - Spanish Trails Council expects that each of its volunteer will:

  1. Treat all other volunteers, council staff, and girl members with courtesy and respect;

  2. Strive to work with others within the organization;

  3. Conduct oneself at all Girl Scout activities in a manner that is a credit to Girl Scouts and is consistent with the Girl Scout Law;

  4. Dress appropriately for Girl Scouts events and activities adhering to event pre-determined guidelines;

  5. Respect differing opinions and interests;

  6. Make responsible decisions which are in the best interest of the girl members;

  7. Abstain from creating discord during Girl Scouts activities;

  8. Use language and conduct during Girl Scout activities which is appropriate as a role-model for girls;

  9. Act always with the safety and well-being of the girls in mind;

  10. Leave program and event sites and property in a better condition than found, understanding that any damage is the responsibility of the group involved;

Conduct by any member of Girl Scouts - Spanish Trails Council that is not consistent with this Standard may be cause for releasing the member from her/his volunteer appointment.
