Bridge to Senior        Bridge to Adult

Senior Bridging Steps:

Step 1:  Interview at least two former or current Senior Girl Scouts to find out what they do in this age level.

Step 2: Page through Resource Book for Senior Girl Scouts to learn more about
            Senior Girl Scouting. Read two sections from two different chapters in the book.

Step 3: Do something with a Senior Girl Scout.  You might visit a Senior Girl Scout meeting or help out with an interest or community service project.

Step 4: Help others learn about Cadette and/or Senior Girl Scouting

Step 5: Find out more about Apprentice Trainer, Leader-in-Training, and Counselor-in-Training which opportunities  are open to Senior Girl Scouts only.

Step 6: Conduct a leadership activity with a group of younger Girl Scouts

Step 7: Design the bridging ceremony.  Consult the GSUSA resource, Ceremonies in Girl Scouting for ideas.

Step 8: Plan and participate in a summer Girl Scout activity.

Bridging Steps To Become An Adult Girl Scouting

Step 1: Getting to know the organization

- Find out how Girl Scouting is organized in your community.

Step 2: Volunteering in the community

- Find out about the volunteer positions that are open to adults

Step 3: Training

- Find out about training available for adults and, if possible, participate in an 
   adult training event.

Step 4: Leadership

- Take on a leadership role in Girl Scouting working with adults. This might be a
   Senior Girl Scout Program Aide, a Leader-in-Training, a Counselor-in-
   Training, a Senior Girl Scout Troop Assistant, an Apprentice Trainer, or a
   member of an event task group or board committee.

Step 5: Planning the bridging ceremony

- Plan or help plan a bridging ceremony, in which you receive your Bridge or
  Adult Girl Scouts pin. Once you have bridged, you may register as an adult and
  wear the adult uniform.
